Are food and bar facilities available?

Caterers provide meals from 7pm on Friday through to breakfast on Sunday morning of races. The club operates a bar from 4pm to 10pm on Friday of race weekend and also from 11am through to 11-45pm Saturday (race day).

Where can I get fuel?

There are no facilities for fuel onsite for planes or road vehicles. The nearest facilities for road vehicles are in Windorah, Birdsville and Innamincka. Planes can refuel at Windorah and Birdsville.

What facilities are available?

There is onsite catering and a bar. Caterer starts with a Friday night meal and then ends with a Sunday Breakfast. The bar operates on a Friday Night, Saturday, Saturday Evening. As the club is a licensed venue alcohol is not permitted to be brought onsite, however alcohol is permitted at camp sites.

Is there an airstrip?

Yes, there is an airstrip approximately 1km from the race track. If the club is contacted prior it may be possible to be met on arrival.

Are there any medical facilities nearby?

A clinic is located in Birdsville and Windorah.

If you are taking medications please ensure that you have an ample supply as nearest chemist is Quilpie.

How far from camping to venue?

Camping is at venue- arrive Friday night and and leave Sunday morning

Will there be any accommodation?

Camping only - hot and cold showers plus septic toilets. The Club appreciates everyone being water wise as water supply is by way of rainwater tanks.

What is the dress code?

Smart Casual  
  • Fashions of the Field for those who wish to take part
  • Good comfortable shoes- thongs not recommended
  • Days can be warm and nights can be very cold.

What is the entry cost?

$30.00 Weekend Pass $10.00 Friday Night $10.00 Races Only (Saturday) $15.00 Saturday Night Price includes camping, use of facilities and a medallion (weekend pass only).

What time do the gates open?

Approximately one hour prior to the first local race (usually about 11:30AM)
